Summer Updates

Hope everyone is enjoying summer break! As the 2009-2010 school year quickly approaches, the Brothers of our chapter are looking forward to participating in our annual philanthropy event the North American Food Drive. As you all know by now, each year our chapter holds various activities across the community to raise awareness for hunger problems in the greater Delaware area. Through our collective efforts last year, we were able to raise a staggering 10,000 pounds of food for the Emmaus House in Newark, Delaware! And now this year we are proud to announce our newest donating center the Food Bank of Delaware. As the Brothers of our chapter begin our efforts for yet another year, we are looking towards the community for your help. Through your donations towards our Paypal account below, you too can help us reach our goal of doubling last year’s total and raising 20,000 pounds of food. Common conversion rates today make each dollar in donations worth 5.5 pounds of food. Donations are always greatly appreciated and remember no amount is too small! On behalf of the Brothers of our chapter, we would like to take the time and thank everyone for your generous donations towards our great cause!

    Thank you for your interest in the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity's chapter at the University of Delaware.  Joining a Fraternity can be one of the biggest decisions you make as a college student, and also the one that can lead to the greatest rewards.  We believe that associating with our chapter could change your college experience, and possibly your life, for the better.  Joining a fraternity is not for everyone, but keep in mind that many of us were people who never saw ourselves as "frat boys".  When you join Lambda Chi Alpha, you do not pledge, you associate.  Associating  is not just another name for pledging, but a truly different experience than you will receive elsewhere.  Associate members have the right to not be hazed; the right to wear letters; the right to vote, and even the right to hold office; as well as the right to participate in all aspects of the chapter's functioning. 
    From an array of social activities, to leadership opportunities, to new and lifelong friendships, there are countless benefits to associating.  We will be keeping you up to date with all of our upcoming functions, and we encourage you to check out these events.   Or, you may stop by and check out our house at 163 West Main Street.  Rides can always be provided.  As much as we value our decision to join Lambda Chi Alpha, it is admittedly not for everyone.  However, you will never know unless you check it our for yourself.  You will almost certainly have a good time, and the most you have to lose is an hour of your time.  Again, thank you for your interest, and we encourage you to learn more about our fraternity.
